Yacht Charter Croatia — Your Gateway to the Adriatic

The Croatian coastline stretches over 1,700 kilometres of Adriatic Sea with more than 1,200 islands — only 48 of them inhabited. This makes it one of the most spectacular sailing destinations in Europe, with secluded anchorages, crystal-clear bays and vibrant coastal towns rich in history and gastronomy.

Whether you are an experienced helmsman looking for a bareboat sailing yacht, a family searching for a spacious catamaran with a professional skipper, or a group celebrating a special occasion on a luxury yacht charter with full crew, Croatia has it all. The sailing season runs from April to October, with July and August offering the warmest waters, while May, June and September deliver calmer seas and excellent value for money.

The most popular charter bases — Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Šibenik — each offer unique itineraries. From Split you can reach Hvar and Vis in under an hour. Dubrovnik opens the door to Mljet National Park and the Elaphiti Islands. Zadar puts the spectacular Kornati archipelago right on your doorstep.

Locally owned & operated

Croatian Company
on the Adriatic Coast

Unlike global booking platforms, Yacht Charter Croatia is a local company that has been operating since 2012. Our team lives on the coast — we have personally sailed every route, visited every marina and know the best anchorages that don’t appear on any chart. When you book with us, you get a local advisor who responds within 2 hours, 7 days a week.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about yacht chartering in Croatia

How much does a yacht charter in Croatia cost?
Charter prices in Croatia range from around €1,000/week for a smaller sailing yacht in the shoulder season up to €20,000+/week for large luxury catamarans at peak season (July–August). A typical 3-cabin sailing yacht costs €1,500–3,000/week depending on the season. Catamarans range from €3,000–10,000/week. All prices cover the vessel only — fuel, marina fees and optional extras are paid separately.
Do I need a licence to charter a yacht in Croatia?
Yes, the skipper must hold a valid sailing licence (ICC, RYA Day Skipper or equivalent) and a VHF radio operator certificate. If you do not have a licence, you can hire a professional skipper — typically €150–200/day. We can arrange this for you.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
The sailing season runs from April to October. June and September are considered the best months: warm weather (25–30°C), calm seas, fewer crowds and competitive prices. July and August are peak season — the warmest and most lively, but also the most crowded and expensive. May and October offer great sailing with significant discounts.
What are the check-in and check-out days?
In Croatia the standard charter week runs Saturday to Saturday. Check-in is on Saturday afternoon (usually 17:00) and check-out is on Saturday morning (09:00). Some charter operators offer flexible check-in days — contact us to check availability.
Are there any hidden fees when booking?
No. Yacht Charter Croatia does not charge any booking fee or commission. The price you see is what you pay to the charter company. Additional on-board costs include fuel (variable), tourist tax (~€1/person/day), marina fees and optional extras such as a skipper or outboard motor.
How far in advance should I book a yacht in Croatia?
For peak season (July–August) we recommend booking 6–12 months in advance as the most popular vessels fill up quickly. For the shoulder season (May, June, September) 2–4 months is usually sufficient. Early booking discounts of up to 20% are often available for bookings made before January.
Can I charter a yacht without sailing experience?
Absolutely! If you have no experience or licence you can hire a professional skipper who handles the vessel while you relax and enjoy the holiday. The skipper knows the waters, recommends routes and takes care of safety — so you can focus entirely on the experience. A hostess is also available for an even more comfortable trip.
What are the most popular sailing routes in Croatia?
The most sought-after route is the Split–Hvar–Vis–Brač loop (1 week). The Dubrovnik–Elaphiti–Korčula route is ideal for southern Dalmatia. For families and groups, the Šibenik–Kornati–Zadar route with its stunning national parks is a favourite. The Kvarner route (Rijeka–Cres–Lošinj) is perfect for nature lovers seeking quieter waters.
