A Croatian Sea Adventure

Pola is the largest city on the Istrian peninsula, with about 60,000 inhabitants. It’s located in the south of Istria and is one of the most visited places for a holiday. There are so many things you can do while visiting Pula. From the charming old town with its many attractions to the good restaurants, lively nightlife, long shopping streets, e many beautiful beaches, Pula is one of the best places you can visit in Croatia. However, the surrounding region, with its grand day trips, amazing nature parks, e charming islands, is also worth visiting and guarantees a great time in the Pula area.

Pula, Croatia, isn’t only a paradise for nature lovers but also a place with amazing history and culture. The Arena of Pula is one of the best preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world and has existed since the 1st century AD. In the past, gladiator fights and other major events were held here, but today it hosts concerts and film festivals, so you can experience a mix of modern and classical entertainment.

The temple of Augustus (in Croatian, Augustov Hram) was constructed between AD 2 and 14 to honour Emperor Augustus. The temple stands on a site that was also home to the Temple of Diana, of which only a fragment remains. The temple now houses Roman sculpture.

Once you charter a yacht in the city of Pola, you should visit the Brijuni Islands. This 14-island national park is a must-see, with its untouched natural environment, historical sites, and stunning anchorages. At Parco nazionale delle Brioni, you can snorkel or take a walk through the lush greenery and observe the different wildlife.

There are many anchorages in the Pula archipelago, and each has its own charm. One of the most popular anchorages in the archipelago is located at the southern end of the Istriano peninsula, at Capo Kamenjak. Here you can anchor in remote bays and enjoy the rugged coastline, close to nature.
